Is new better than old? Consider this: Even if you love the chrome, curves, and muscle of classic cars, you probably appreciate the reliability and features — like heated seats and onboard navigation — of newer cars. Or, if you admire the intricate details and tall ceilings of Victorian-era homes, you probably prefer the open floor plans, large windows, and energy efficiency of today’s modern houses.
Most of the things that exist today are improvements on what came before. The same is true for senior living communities. Just over the last decade or so — as Baby Boomers have begun to retire — what older adults want from retirement has shifted dramatically and so have we. Fairview’s new expansion, Vista Point at Fairview, continues our 130+ year tradition of serving seniors and to inspire individuals to live their best lives.
For previous generations, retirement was mostly about relaxation and leisure. Today’s modern retirement living is more focused on actively exploring your interests. That doesn’t mean downtime isn’t important. It simply means that most people now want opportunities to learn and grow, no matter how many birthdays they’ve celebrated.
Newer retirement communities are designed with this in mind, offering space for enrichment and exploration. Older communities, many of which were built during the last century (which was now more than 25 years ago) may not have the flexibility to help you maximize your pursuits.
At Vista Point, we’ve dedicated 43,000 square feet to amenities designed to help you stay active and support your overall wellness. You’ll also find pickleball and tennis courts, hiking trails, space for gardening, fire pits, and outdoor dining.
Vista Point is purposefully designed for today’s active lifestyle. When you are home, in addition to a wide variety of social opportunities and options to pursue your goals, you can enjoy water views and sunsets over the Thames River. Should you get bit by the travel bug, you’ll have seamless access to coastal New England and all the cultural offerings of New York City and Boston.
As we continue to build and envision this next phase of our community, there’ll be plenty to enjoy today, but we’re also thinking about tomorrow. And not just the rest of this decade, but for decades into the future. Vista Point will offer more than just a new home. It will offer a new way of living.
If you’re ready for a fresh start in a new senior living community designed for today’s retiree, Vista Point is here. As Southeastern Connecticut’s only nonprofit Life Plan Community offering both a vibrant lifestyle and breathtaking waterfront views, Vista Point’s vision for the future includes creating an amenity-rich environment close to some of the region’s best cultural attractions, entertainment, shopping, and dining.
When you choose a Life Plan Community like Vista Point, you’re not just choosing where you’ll live, you’re choosing how you’ll live.
