Southeastern Connecticut’s Premier Senior Living Community

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

We understand choosing a retirement community can be a big decision. Wherever you are on your senior living journey, we want to be a helpful resource. To guide you, we’ve provided answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our community.

Vista Point at Fairview will expand upon our current Life Plan Community, also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC, offering nearly 200 independent residential maintenance-free living units for adults age 62 or better. These residents who we refer to as “life champions” will benefit from services, great food and amenities in a dynamic, fun, and stimulating environment. Modern health care options delivered by an organization that puts resident needs first will also be available, setting us apart from other living arrangements like traditional active adult communities. A one-time entrance fee along with monthly fees offers lifetime residency, enjoyment of amenities, and access to on-site health care. This continuum provides genuine peace of mind and security for a predictable future so each of our life champions can truly live their best lives on our beautiful, waterfront campus community.

Our selection of luxury independent living floor plans will include 13 different floor plan options ranging in size from 824 square feet up to 1,600 square feet. They will offer high-end finishes and all will have either a walk-out patio or balcony for outdoor access.

Yes, this is your home! We want you to share your new lifestyle with your friends and family. In fact, we’ve designed some of our amenities for you and your grandkids to enjoy together. Invite them to one of our educational events or to socialize with your new neighbors. Sit down to a delicious meal together or play a fast-paced game of pickleball. You could even take a relaxing stroll or just sit on the deck and enjoy the views of the Thames River.

Of course! We are a pet-friendly retirement community and look forward to your furry friend being a part of our community. Ask your Life Plan Counselor for additional information.

Yes. Your input will help define our lifestyle. As a resident of Vista Point, you’ll play a key role in shaping programs, events, and everyday experiences. A dedicated resident council will provide an active forum for suggestions to improve our community.

Your monthly fee covers your interior and exterior maintenance, landscaping and community common spaces, weekly housekeeping, a flexible choice-filled dining program, wellness and lifestyle programming, fitness classes, most utilities, and more.

One of the many benefits of life at Vista Point is we will cover all the property taxes. If you’re already a Connecticut resident, you know how liberating that can feel.

The Grand Lodge of the Connecticut Order of Odd Fellows, Grand Lodge of Fairview founded Fairview as a nonprofit community for seniors in 1892 and continues to successfully operate, going on 133 years. Fairview offers a fun, engaging lifestyle with programs and supportive services for our “life champions” in Southeastern Connecticut. The principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth continue to guide our mission of inspiring individuals to live their best lives. Our status as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) ensures that every dollar we earn is reinvested into our community for the benefit of our residents and employees.

Many people do bring their cars and with all the transportation options provided by our community, a car is not a necessity. Many couples find they prefer one car instead of two, but that is totally up to you. We will also have EV charging stations available on-site for those who choose to go electric.

Vista Point at Fairview features expansive Apartment Homes in a variety of styles and sizes to provide you with a spectrum of choice in your new residence. Placing a reservation deposit, which will be applied to your entrance fee upon move-in, is the first step toward residency. We offer 13 different floor plan options, ranging in size from 824 square feet to 1,600 square feet. This no-risk entrance fee is refundable if you should change your mind. One call to our Marketing Team at 860-968-8439 will get you started.
