Southeastern Connecticut is about to experience a transformative shift in senior living with the announcement of Vista Point at Fairview, a premier Life Plan Community set to redefine senior living. With unparalleled views of the Thames River, maintenance-free living, unmatched amenities, and an enriching lifestyle, Vista Point at Fairview promises to be a vibrant new destination for seniors in Southeastern Connecticut

A Life Plan Community, also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), offers a full continuum of care — from independent living to assisted living and memory care — all within one campus. This model provides seniors with peace of mind, ensuring they can age in place with the care they need, when they need it. Residents also enjoy an abundance of services and amenities, wellness programs, social opportunities, and the financial predictability that comes with a Life Plan Community.
As a nonprofit Life Plan Community, every dollar Vista Point at Fairview earns will be reinvested into the organization for the benefit of the people who live and work in the community.
The recent approval of Vista Point at Fairview by the town of Groton marks a major milestone in the community’s development. The project is poised to elevate Groton’s reputation as a retirement destination, attracting people from across the region while stimulating the local economy.
Vista Point at Fairview builds upon the trusted legacy of Fairview, a well-established senior living provider known for providing exceptional care and commitment to the community. Fairview’s reputation as a leader in senior living for over 130 years serves as the foundation for this new development.
The $260 million project, developed in partnership with Greystone, AG Architecture, C.E. Floyd Construction, 828 Interior Design, AgePop Marketing, Langan Civil Engineering, Ziegler Financial, and the law offices of TCORS and Harris Beach Murtha, is expected to create significant local benefits, including numerous jobs during construction and ongoing employment opportunities once the community opens. Beyond the economic boost, Vista Point at Fairview will enrich the region with new programs and connections between seniors and the greater Groton community.
“It will take approximately just over two years to construct all of the wonderful buildings and design features of Vista Point at Fairview. Like the future residents, hundreds of workers will pridefully create this community and enjoy the views this property offers,” said Chuck Tobin, Chief Operating Officer for C.E. Floyd Company. “We are all excited to be part of this rare opportunity to help the Fairview organization continue its success for another hundred years of serving the local community they support.”
Vista Point at Fairview’s exclusive Priority Club has already seen overwhelming enthusiasm, with 220 seniors from the local region registering early to become depositors. Priority Club Members secure early access to information, updates, and exclusive events; first choice of residence location and floor plan; and lowest pricing ever offered.
Billy Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of Fairview, shared his excitement about the vision for Vista Point at Fairview: “We are not building yesterday’s retirement community. Rather, we are building something fresh, dynamic, progressive, and above all, stimulating. Vista Point at Fairview represents a new way of thinking about senior living, blending modern amenities within a community that has a tradition of caring for over 132 years. Vista Point at Fairview will represent the future of Independent and Assisted Living, creating a unique lifestyle to match our unique views along the Thames River in Southeastern Connecticut. We’re excited to bring our uniquely nonprofit vision to life.”
Future residents are equally optimistic about their future. “I’ve been doing a lot of research and Vista Point at Fairview’s lifestyle and care seems to check all the boxes. We’re very excited to get in on the ground floor to help shape the community and see the progress. Plus, my husband appreciates the nonprofit status,” said Donna Bowles, a Vista Point at Fairview Priority Club Member.
To help visualize the future of Vista Point at Fairview, an early rendering of the exterior of the community showcases elegant architecture set against the breathtaking beauty of the Thames River. Construction is expected to begin in the late summer of 2026.
