Great art can make us think, drive us to act, and change our view of the world. Just like a great retirement community of friendly, smart, cultural, and highly involved people. That’s why Vista Point at Fairview is a proud sponsor of The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (more affectionately known locally as The Kate) as part of our commitment to curating meaningful relationships, supporting local arts, and creating an engaging lifestyle for our future residents. In fact, not only do we support local theater, but we’re adding a 200-seat auditorium to our community with a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting that will provide residents with high-quality, on-campus entertainment.
While we’re extremely proud to be supporting local arts through our Vista Point and The Kate partnership, our new community will do so much more. By being a Life Plan Community with an arts focus, we’ll not only provide avenues for self-expression and creative exploration, but it could also help improve the health and wellness of Vista Point residents. Research by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) on music, theater, dance, creative writing, and other participatory arts shows promise for improving older adults’ quality of life and well-being, from better cognitive function, memory, and self-esteem to reduced stress and increased social interaction.
We believe an important part of building an innovative and engaging lifestyle is listening to the people who will soon call it home. A recent survey we conducted only confirmed what we’ve always believed. Future residents want more than just a place to live — they want a vibrant, cultural community that inspires and enriches their lives. In fact, we found that:
With the ongoing input from our Priority Club members — who will continue to help us mold and shape the culture of Vista Point — our future lifestyle is coming into clearer and clearer focus.
Another important part of building a dynamic culture is being open to new clubs, classes, and ideas as part of our lifestyle. The current roster of working ideas that brings us closer to our goal of senior living with an arts program includes:
Of course, one of the things about attracting interesting, worldly people is they have hobbies and ideas we haven’t even thought of yet. So, if you’re interested in Vista Point and have a passion or talent that you don’t see listed above, let us know. Our team can give you the space, time, and support to help bring it to life.
You could be among those helping our team create Southeastern Connecticut’s premier Life Plan Community. Don’t miss your opportunity to help us bring our bold plan for the future to life.
