Like most great ideas, Vista Point at Fairview began with a question: How could we make Southeastern Connecticut retirement even better? With more than 130 years of experience serving the area’s seniors, we had a strong foundation to build upon. We also had the guidance of our mission — to inspire individuals to live their best lives.
We started by creating a list of the Life Plan Community amenities we envisioned, then spoke with older adults who love the Groton area and wanted an option that would help them make the most of retirement. The result is Vista Point: a purposefully designed community that blends coastal elegance with everyday ease.
When you embark on something as ambitious as creating a new way of living from the ground up, you need both a master plan and experienced partners to bring it to life. Beginning with a blank canvas gave us the freedom to dream big. From the start, we knew we wanted to maximize our waterfront location on the Thames River and the breathtaking views it provides. As you explore our plans, you’ll see that both residences and common areas have been designed to capture the last golden rays of the sun dancing across the water or filtering gently through the trees.
The Vista Point master plan wasn’t created in isolation. We held focus groups and asked future residents about their priorities. What we heard was clear: people want connection with neighbors, spaces to welcome family, easy access to wellness, and surroundings that spark joy. Those insights shaped everything from walking paths and gardens to the mix of social gathering places and private retreats. The result is a community designed not just for today, but to support the way you want to live in the years ahead.
